TRENTE
This is the story of colors that meet.
Come together, adore or ignore each other.
The blue of the sea, the gold of the desert, the green of the forest, the red of our love...
Skillful colors dress the material and the light makes them sing.
And dance. And feast!
Ethereal or intense, captive or free, plural, infinite.
Essential.
The joy of our eyes, they pigment our lives with their intimate rhythms, like our hearts in our bodies.
Like sublime salutes to our universes.

Originally commissioned by a leading marine coatings company to mark its 30th anniversary, TRENTE ("Thirty") was conceived as a unique artistic project celebrating a major milestone. The series quickly transcended its original purpose, inspiring such enthusiasm that, with the kind agreement of its original commissioners, it became part of the gallery collection. Today, the series continues its journey, reaching an ever-wider audience.

These images were first presented in September 2023 at Bijou Plage, Cannes, during the Cannes Yachting Festival, marking the beginning of their dialogue with light, color, and the Mediterranean.

In 2008, Sinar entrusted him with an HY6 for a year of intensive testing under extraordinary conditions. Now addicted to medium format (large sensors), Nicolas Claris became one of Pentax's rare ambassadors from 2012 to 2021.

In 2022, he switched to even more technologically advanced Fujifilm equipment — still medium format, with a 102-megapixel sensor delivering exceptional colour and image quality.

Romain Claris

Romain Claris has been creating short films since 2000, selected and awarded at over a hundred international film festivals. Graduate of the Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français in Paris, 2005.

In 2020, he co-founded the Bordeaux Shorts Biennale. In preparation for 2026: the documentary Les comptes de la lune, an alternative history of the invention of numbers and calculation.
