Présentée pour la première fois en 2017 par la Galerie d'art du Relais [&] Châteaux Le Saint-James**** à Bordeaux, l’exposition ROUGE a été présentée une deuxième fois par l’Espace Culturel L’Hermine à Sarzeau, du 4 au 29 mars derniers.
Nous avons eu le plaisir de constater, aux côtés d’Anne Lenglart, directrice de l’Espace, l’enthousiasme qu’elle a suscité auprès d’un très large public. Parmi les nombreuses visites, un moment inattendu et émouvant a marqué les esprits : lors de la projection du film réalisé par Romain Claris, un groupe de visiteurs s’est spontanément mis à chanter… Une belle illustration de la façon dont une création peut toucher, rassembler, et faire naître des émotions partagées.
Preuve, s’il en fallait, qu’une exposition peut — et doit — avoir plusieurs vies !

Initially exhibited in 2017 by the Relais [&] Châteaux Le Saint-James**** Art Gallery in Bordeaux, the ROUGE exhibition was presented a second time by the Espace Culturel L'Hermine in Sarzeau from 4 to 29 March.
We had the pleasure, alongside Anne Lenglart, Director of the Espace, of witnessing the enthusiasm it generated among a wide and diverse audience. Among the many memorable visits, one unexpected and moving moment stood out: during the screening of the film directed by Romain Claris, a group of visitors spontaneously began to sing… A beautiful illustration of how a creative project can move people, bring them together, and spark shared moments of emotion.
A perfect example — if one were needed — of how an exhibition can, and should, have several lives.

On n’apprivoise pas la couleur, on tente de la capter, de la restituer. On l’observe, on l’admire, elle nous transporte.
À pas feutrés, nous nous sommes approchés pour saisir la richesse de ses rouges, jouant avec des lumières variées, parfois intenses, jusqu’à la douce lueur d’une chandelle, espérant dévoiler, peut-être, des teintes jusqu’alors insoupçonnées.
Comme un magicien, le vin s’est offert à nos yeux incrédules : sa teinte, ses dégradés multiples et profonds, ses nuances somptueuses semblaient vouloir nous raconter leur histoire.
Dès le début de ce travail, nous avions en tête des images douces et voluptueuses, aux couleurs persistantes—brillantes ou sombres, pastel ou vives—avec leurs transparences fulgurantes, leurs promesses troublantes et -presque !- enivrantes.
Chercher l’épure : dans une approche conceptuelle et visuelle parfois proche de l’abstraction, nous avons délibérément dirigé notre regard vers l’intimité des surfaces et la profondeur des volumes, vers cet instant où les couleurs jouent avec nous, en complicité avec les matières et la lumière.

> ROUGE (RED)
One does not tame color; one strives to capture and reveal it. We observe it, admire it—it transports us.
Stealthily, we approached, seeking to grasp the richness of its reds, playing with varied lighting—sometimes intense, down to the soft glow of a candle—hoping to unveil, perhaps, hues never before suspected.
Like a magician, the wine revealed itself to our incredulous eyes: its tone, its deep and subtle gradients, its sumptuous nuances seemed to whisper their story to us.
From the very beginning of this work, we envisioned soft and voluptuous images, with enduring colors—brilliant or dark, pastel or vivid—featuring dazzling transparencies, unsettling promises, and—almost!—intoxicating allure.
Striving for purity: through a conceptual and visual approach sometimes verging on abstraction, we deliberately focused our gaze on the intimacy of surfaces and the depth of volumes, on that fleeting moment when colors play with us, in harmony with texture and light.
With simple touches, we set out to discover the infinitely colorful, unveiled in broad daylight.… More
